Yuletide Opening
Fri Dec 02, 2022 10:28 pm
Second Day, Twelfth Moon,
Twenty-Third Year of Recent Awakenings
In accordance with the will of Her Majesty and in upholding the duties charged to me as Court Chronicler, I hereby submit the account of Yuletide Opening.
Shortly after the ringing of the sixth late bell on the first day of the last moon an announcement rang out through the Outer Bailey Courtyard, "All kneel for Her Most Serene Royal Majesty, Peppermint Monarch, sovereign of Castle Marrach and Mount Ardan, Queen Vivienne, and Her Highness, the Sugarplum Fairy Princess, Maeveen."
Dame Josie, Royal Equerry to her Majesty Queen Vivienne, was encouraged into festive moods by the young Princess Maeveen. Followed by an entourage of handmaidens and the Royal Army, the Queen come out to the landing top of the stairs in the Outer Baily Courtyard and greet all of her present subjects.
Both the Princess and Her Majesty looked stunning and festive. Princess Maeveen was bedecked in sugarplum purple hair with a marshmallow complexion. Her Majesty was bedecked in platinum and ice diamonds that paired well with her starlight white ensemble.
The Queen started her speech by reminding those present of the reason for the festivities, "It pleases Us to see you all gathered this year in preparation for the Yule time festivities. These past five years it has been the tradition that the 12th moon of the year be dedicated to Yuletide, a period of cheer and festivity, where we celebrate our love and gratitude for one another through celebrations and the ritual of gift giving."
She continued onward, briefly explaining how the courts may come together during this time. Queen Vivienne then delved into the activities presented by the festival, "Scattered throughout the Hunting Grounds you will find a variety of goods for the Yuletide festivities, some hidden with the shrubbery, more in piles scattered throughout the forest, and others are still frozen within the ice. Collect these treats, as Our gift to all of you, or collect the currencies found within and take them to the gingerbread cottage at the edge of the forest, to trade with our duteous shop manager Elsa, for gifts of your choice for yourselves and each other."
With an ethereal wave of her hand, a shimmering cerulean portal appeared in a flash of golden light. Princess Maeveen and Queen Vivieene's entourage lead with festive excitement. With a parting wish, Her Majesty was then escorted out, "We wish you all a festive Yuletide, and merriment in the company of loved ones."
Those lingering were quick to seek the portal and enter the Yule grounds. They were met with a snowy forest to explore, tasks to complete, and a plethora of snowmen and toy soldiers to banish from the piles of presents. Yule was once more returned with a flutter of activity.
This chronicle will be subject to changes and corrections. I humbly ask all readers to please indicate to me discreetly, any falsehoods I may have mistakenly communicated. It is by means of the conservation of the Past that we continue to serve Her Majesty and give substance to those that follow.
In service to Her Majesty Queen Vivienne, The Office of the Chronicler, and the Denizenry of Her Majesty's Realm.
