Feast Foils Crimson Bandit

Twenty-seventh Day, Sixth Moon,
Twenty-Third Year of Recent Awakenings
In accordance with the will of Her Majesty and in upholding the duties charged to me as Senior Chronicler, I hereby submit the account of Feast Foils Crimson Bandit.
On the twenty-sixth day of the sixth moon, a heartwarming feast was held by the Lord Marshal, Dame Eeva, and the Royal Army. While its sentiment still held firm, it was soon interrupted by a fiendish commotion.
Shortly before the nine bells, the Lord Marshall Dame Eeva welcomed denizens from both sides of the bridge into the Royal Forest. Portals had been opened in celebration of the recently completed Tournament of Arms. Dame Eeva had welcomed everyone quite warmly, thanking them for their support over the previous week, "This night is to celebrate the Champions of the tournament, but also to celebrate the people of Marrach. The political playground has been at a peak lately, and it was nice to see everyone is still capable of cooperating and showing gallantry and courtesy to their fellow Marrachian."
Following this, she passed out the tokens and prizes for the champion of each tier. Sera Arlenia of the beginner tier received sponsorship to bear arms, and a customized rapier dotted with blue opals. Mistress Kathris's prize from the intermediate tier was not ready as she was to receive a custom piece of armor or weapon of her choosing. Master Leodegrance of the master tier received a rare combat manual only given out during large tournaments.
Following this, much merriment was to be had as denizens delved into the feast before them. Chatting and teasing passed between the table as Dame Eeva and Captain Vessa oversaw the festivities. Less than half a bell before then tenth late, Dame Eeva excused herself briefly. She was gone less than ten ticks before she returned, directing her soldiers to get everyone back to their baileys. As the Outer Bailey portal was a very short walk from the site, she made special care that Serjeant's Nexian and Tristan escort those of the Inner Bailey back to their much further portal.
While Captain Vessa was directing the other soldiers and sword-bearing equerries, those who lived in the Inner made their way across the snowy forest. As they arrived at the portal, a puddle of blood met them, the remnants from the two fallen Yeoman constructs.
Once everyone had been safely situated within the Inner, Dame Eeva and Captain Vessa once more took control of the situation. Those assisting the Royal Army in the complete and thorough rounds were done of both the Inner and the Outer Bailey, including Master Ammanas and Dionar, Mistress Rikka, Corporal Raulison, and Watchwoman Trystan, Constable Harabec. Sir Varick diligently guarded the denizens in the Great Hall and Doctor Aloria was escorted to examine the bodies of the Yeoman.
Eventually, after both baileys has been scoured, those remaining went to check the Iced Ballroom and Glade. Serjeant Aratan was able to spot the man, who closely resembled the crimson criminal who had robbed sera Arlenia a few weeks before.
After spotting him, Serjeant Aratan was able to grasp the criminal's cape, causing him to try to use his rapier to cut it off. It was at this point that the others started arriving. Captain Vessa, Dame Eeva, and Master Ammanas were next in the room. Noticing more people the culprit then leveled his rapier at Serjeant Aratan but was quickly distracted by the fierce shot of lightning Master Ammanas flung, causing the man to soar into the railing.
Following this, Captain Vessa advanced to the Serjeant's side, causing the crimson criminal to fling an exploding vial towards Master Ammanas. It was at this time that several of the others, including Serjean Nexian, Yeoman Sigrun, and Mistress Rikka arrived. Master Ammanas was able to dodge and deflect most of the explosion, generally protecting those behind him, aside from a few bruises.
Those closest to the culprit, Captain Vessa and Serjeant Aratan, were furthest from the commotion and able to engage him. Yeoman Sigrun sprinted to reach them and aid in the engagement. Being the newest waking in the fight, the culprit was quick to focus his attacks on her, pushing her from the battle as her armor saved her from a particularly close call.
Serjeant Aratan is noted as having presented himself well during the encounter, assisting the Captain in wounding the criminal. It was then the Serjeant noted the masked crimson man reaching for something to throw. Serjeant Aratan selflessly threw himself upon the man, pinning his arms down so he could not toss the little black bag. He finally dropped his weapon and the Army was able to remand him into the custody of the Winter Watch. He was brought to the cells and had his wounds treated. The criminal remained generally silent and once the masked was removed, none of the denizens or soldiers were able to recognize him.
Later in the evening, when people were apologizing to the Lord Marshal about the distraction from the feast, she reassured them all, "It was a very nice feast. I do not think the murder soured it over much. We still all came together as a Keep and had a nice time, then worked together as a Keep to handle a surprise foe."
The man wore a crimson mask and carried a rapier with a cat engraved on it. The little black bag was later identified to be a 'Flash Bag'. Beyond that, he seemed to enter from the Outer Bailey portal to attack the Yeoman guarding the Inner Bailey portal and get through. This is currently all that is known about the man, and as such caution is still recommended. If you see anything unusual please contact a member of the Royal Army or Winter Watch immediately.
Those who helped secure the castle included Dame Eeva, Captain Vessa, Lieutenant Kathris, Serjeants Aratan, Nexian, Tristan, Yeoman Sigrun, Master Ammanas and Dionar, Mistress Rikka, Corporal Raulison, Watchwoman Trystan, Constable Harabec and Sir Varick
