Royal Army Tournament of Arms

Swordsmen and sorcerers are welcome to test their skills against the rest of the Keep in the Royal Army Tournament of Arms beginning on the 19th of this 6th Moon, 23YRA. The opening ceremony will take place in the Outer Bailey Theater at 8LB on the 19th, with preliminary rounds beginning on the 20th and ending on the 21st. Semi-Finals begin on the 22nd and end on the 23rd. And Finals will be held the 24th with a Champion round set for the 25th depending on how many participants there are. The awards ceremony shall be held on the evening of the 26th, regardless of if there is a Champion round on the 25th.


RULES

Participation is based on Sponsorships, and ANY Household or Guild may sponsor up to THREE swordsmen and THREE sorcerers for the tournament. NOTE: The guilds do not have to be martial in nature to sponsor a champion for the tournament, they only need to have a charter in good standing with the Chambers. Swordsmen and interested sorcerers are encouraged to seek out Guilds and Households for sponsorship in this event. Likewise, Households and Guilds are encouraged to seek out champions from the swordsmen and sorcerers they know.

Once sponsorship has been acquired, the swordsmen and sorcerers must write to Captain Vessa with their intention to participate, the name of their Sponsor, and which category they intend to participate in.

Sorcery - Beginner (at/below Fellowcraft)
Sorcery - Intermediate (at/below Artisan)
Sorcery - Master (Senior Artisan & above)

Swordsmanship - Beginner (at/below Fellowcraft)
Swordsmanship - Intermediate (at/below Artisan)
Swordsmanship - Master (Senior Artisan & above)

STRUCTURE

*Best of 3 Bouts Wins (MCOMBAT)

*PRELIMINARIES will be hosted in the Practice Hall throughout the days of the 20th and 21st and can be overseen by any Royal Army member ranked Serjeant and above.
*SEMI-FINALS will be hosted in the Practice Hall throughout the days of the 22nd and 23rd and can be overseen by any Royal Army member ranked Lieutenant and above.
*FINALS will be posted with arranged times and must be overseen by the Lord Marshal.
*CHAMPION ROUND will be posted with an arranged time and must be overseen by the Lord Marshal. (Again, this round is dependent on participation.)

Please contact Captain Vessa with any questions you might have. The Royal Army will take any Sponsored swordsman/sorcerer straight up until the opening ceremony on the 19th.

Notice: If you are having troubles with the Tiers, simply send in your desire to participate and we will be certain to put you in the correct one.

~ To the attention of all law-abiding, loyal citizens of Mount Ardan ~

Her Majesty's Royal Army shall be hosting a week long tournament of arms formally beginning upon the 19th day of this, the 6th moon, of these the Twenty-Third Year of Recent Awakenings and ending upon the 26th day of this moon.

This tournament is open to all denizens in good standing with the Law who wish to compete against their fellows in honourable combat to showcase their Prowess on the field. It is open both to individuals who study the sword and those who practice the craft of sorcery.

Each individual who enters the tournament will be allowed to choose an epithet to carry with them throughout the tournament and there will be a tent in the gate courtyard open with tables for the non-martial denizens to craft favor tokens for their favorite combatant.

COMBATANTS: Once you have ensured your sponsorship and entry, please select an epithet and post it upon the main bulletin board posting so your admirers may dutifully support you in the week to come!

~ RULES ~

- Each Household and Guild may sponsor up to 3 swordsmen and 3 sorcerers to enter into the competition to represent their Household or Guild.

- These individuals must contact CAPTAIN VESSA with their Sponsorship and intent to join the Royal Army's Tournament of Arms by the 19th of this Moon.

- Individuals entering the tournament of arms should declare their adeptness in their field so they can be placed accordingly, but if you are unsure, please make a note of it to the Captain and she will place you where she deems most fit.

- This is a REBATE ONLY exchange.

- PRELIMINARIES will be hosted in the Practice Hall on the 20th and 21st and overseen by a member of the Royal Army holding the rank of Serjeant or higher.

- SEMI-FINALS will be hosted in the Practice Hall on the days of the 22nd and 23rd and will be overseen by a member of the Royal Army holding the rank of Lieutenant or higher.

- FINALS will be hosted by in the Practice Hall on the 24th and will be overseen by the Captain, Knight Lieutenants, or Lord Marshal.

- CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND: Should this be necessary it will be scheduled accordingly, but ideally handled on the 25th, before the closing ceremony on the 26th.

Once you have discovered your initial opponent it is up to you both to settle on a time to meet in the Practice Hall for your bouts. Royal Army Officials will be present in the Practice Hall at various times throughout the week to accommodate everyone's different waking times. Watch the official board notices for these times. (OOC: Check Discord / Forums often)

REBATES ONLY. You may bring rebates of your own to the fight, but they will need to be inspected by the Royal Army Officials on duty before the fight takes places.  Otherwise, the Royal Army will provide a number of rebates for the event.

IMPORTANT NOTE:: There shall be absolutely NO magic enhancing items allowed on the field. Do not bring them.

*NOTE: The WINNER of the BASIC Tier will move on to fight in the INTERMEDIATE Tier. This does not negate their winnings, it merely gives them a chance to showcase their skills against the next tier.

Firstly, the Royal Army gives thanks to all participants in this years Tournament of Arms. We appreciate all the engagement, including those who came to cheer their favored champions through their rounds. It was a week full of impressive fights where swordsmen were able to showcase their skill be they Beginner, Intermediate, or Master. We hope you will offer your heartfelt congratulations to the Victors and look forward to seeing you all at the Champion's Feast.

REMINDER

The Champion Feast is to be held this SUNS evening beginning at 8LB in the Inner Forest. This is a FORMAL event and standards for the Court will be upheld. Please leave all containers and weaponry in your rooms.
